The recently refurbished 5Rise shopping centre in Bingley is targeting restaurant operators to occupy a unit at the scheme on Chapel Lane, in the hope that it can bring a much needed, high quality eatery for local residents.
5Rise, that has received much acclaim for transforming the former Myrtle Walk shopping centre, has already achieved great success with 70% of units already let to occupiers including Co-operative Food, Home Bargains, Boots and Santander. Since opening in December 2009, 5Rise has thrived but owner, 4Urban said that it is keen to bring in a new dining experience to compliment the retail offer.
Richard Holmes, Director at 4Urban said, “I live in Bingley myself and it has been some time since we have had a good quality restaurant on our doorstep. There are some pleasant places to eat out but Christopher’s was really the only high quality experience and that closed some time ago.
“Bingley has a direct catchment of nearly 29,000 residents. Due to its excellent road and rail links it is a desirable place to live having more wealthy executives and flourishing families than the Yorkshire and Humber average. The town is prime for a leisure operation akin to what we see in places like Chapel Allerton in Leeds and we are seeking to attract the same calibre of restaurant for the people of Bingley.”
“Plans for a major Sainsbury’s store just opposite 5Rise in 2012 reinforces our position to attract further tenants to 5rise. Just 5 units remain to let and we are seeking to secure deals with leisure operators as well as multiple/independent retailers.”

Bingley has a resident population of just under 20,000 people and a population within 10km of the centre of 406,750 persons (2001 census).
Bingley has a similar market size and consumer profile of towns such as Selby, Guisborough and Ripon.
Bingley’s ACORN profile is dominated by Secure Families (18.8%) and Blue Collar Roots (13.7%).
Bingley has more Wealthy Executives and Flourishing Families than the Yorkshire and Humber average.
CACI estimate comparison goods expenditure is set to increase to £58 million.
5Rise is adjacent to the Rail Station, several bus stops as well as the main town car parks.
