- 13 September 2010

Hot of the heals of the new Jaldi Jaldi (Mumtaz) signing at 5Rise shopping centre in Bingley, owner and developer 4Urban has announced that award winning DIY store, Fobi Retail will also take occupation in the new scheme. This is the latest in a string of new occupiers attracted to centre since its recent redevelopment.

4Urban has secured a deal to let a 2,450 sq ft unit over two floors to Fobi under a 15 year lease terms at an average rent of £47,500 per annum. The unit is located on Myrtle Walk (the central pedestrian route) next door to Home Bargains and directly opposite the Co-operative supermarket.

Fobi Retail is a well established DIY store having operated for more than 21 years at its larger store in Meanwood, Leeds. It sells a range of products ranging from DIY tools, hardware and kitchen wares through to electrical items and car accessories. Fobi is recognised for good quality products at low prices from brands including Draper, Johnsons, Hika Tools, Oracstar, Harris and Stanley with around 5,000 products in stock.

Steven Forrest, proprietor of Fobi said, “We are delighted to locate our second store at 5Rise in Bingley. It provides a good location with strong footfall and customer catchment. We will open the store in late October this year and plan to open a further store in Leeds as a part of our expansion programme.”

5Rise was formerly Myrtle Walk shopping centre that was redeveloped by 4urban in 2009. The local developer has literally transformed the scheme attracting major high street tenant interest and outstanding acclaim from regional stakeholders. New tenants include Co-operative Food, Home Bargains, Santander, Greggs, Timpson, Betfred, Boots, Klick and NatWest. To date the retail element continues to attract strong interest with a further unit currently under offer.
